Pleth Sponsors 2010 AHEWC
Stephen Smart, partner and co-founder of Pleth, LLC, an Arkansas based technology firm, announced on Monday that Pleth had agreed to be summa cum laude sponsors of the 2010 Arkansas Higher Education Web Conference. The Arkansas Higher Education Web Conference, or AHEWC is the brainchild of Chris Nixon from the University of Arkansas, Tonya Oaks Smith from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Shelley Keith from Southern Arkansas University.
After returning from the 2009 HighEdWeb Conference (@highedweb) it was determined that a statewide organization was needed to help distribute collective knowledge and support among peers at other institutions across the natural state. The July 23, 2010 regional conference is the first major milestone in that mission.
The goals of AHEWC are to establish an internal support organization for Arkansas higher education Web professionals and to promote professional development, self-advancement and promotion through presentation opportunities. AHEWC also strives to promote national and regional HighEdWeb participation and build the foundation for a future HighEdWeb chapters.
“Having several universities from around the state as clients, we felt that our involvement in this conference was important. We are looking forward to monitoring the success of this years AHEWC and expect to see a lot of really exciting things come from it for the higher education community.” said Smart.
